Inclusivity & Accessibility Policy
Our Commitment to an Inclusive Training Environment
Wyldepaw is dedicated to providing services where every person and every dog is treated with respect, dignity, and empathy.
The business is built on the belief that learning thrives in an environment where clients feel safe, valued, and understood.
Inclusivity is not an add‑on - it is a core principle that shapes every interaction, decision, and service offered.
Respect for All Clients
We welcome and support clients from all backgrounds and communities. This includes, but is not limited to:
- People of all ages and life stages
- All genders and gender identities
- All sexual orientations
- All ethnicities, cultures, and nationalities
- All faiths, beliefs, and non‑religious identities
- All family structures, including single owners, co‑parents, and multi‑generational households
- People with disabilities, chronic conditions, or additional support needs
- Neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other cognitive differences
Every client deserves a training experience that is free from judgement, assumptions, or discrimination.
We are committed to maintaining a space where you can ask questions openly, learn at your own pace, and feel supported throughout your journey with us.
Respect for All Dogs
We believe that every dog is an individual with their own needs, history, temperament, and learning style. All our training is:
- Force‑free and welfare‑focused
- Science and Evidence‑based and most importantly, humane
- Adapted to each dog’s emotional and behavioural needs
- Designed to build confidence, trust, and communication
We work with dogs of all sizes, ages, backgrounds abilities and disabilities, tailoring our approach to ensure that each dog and their guardian feels safe,
understood, and set up for success.
NOTE: Legal Compliance Regarding Banned Breeds
In line with UK legislation and insurance requirements, we are unable to offer training services for dogs that fall under the prohibited breeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act.
This is a legal restriction rather than a reflection of any judgement about individual dogs or their potential.
We remain committed to supporting responsible ownership and dog welfare within the boundaries of the law,
and are always happy to signpost owners to appropriate, legally compliant resources where possible.
Accessibility & Adjustments
We aim to make our services accessible to as many people as possible.
If you have specific needs or require adjustments, please let us know so we can support you effectively.
Examples of adjustments include:
- Flexible communication methods (written, verbal, visual aids)
- Slower‑paced sessions or additional breaks
- Clear, structured instructions
- Alternative training setups for mobility or sensory needs
- Remote or hybrid sessions where appropriate
- Our goal is to remove barriers, not create them.
Communication & Learning Styles
Everyone learns differently. We adapt our teaching to suit your preferred style, whether you benefit most from:
- Demonstrations
- Step‑by‑step verbal guidance
- Written follow‑ups
- Visual diagrams or videos
- Repetition and reinforcement
- A more hands‑on or hands‑off approach
You will always be encouraged to ask questions, request clarification, or revisit topics as needed.
Zero‑Tolerance for Discrimination
We maintain a strict zero‑tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or abusive behaviour.
This applies to all interactions, whether in person, online, or during group sessions. Everyone deserves a safe and respectful environment.
Ongoing Learning & Accountability
Inclusivity is an ongoing practice. We are committed to:
- Continuing professional development
- Staying informed about best practices in accessibility and inclusive communication
- Reflecting on our own practice and making improvements where needed
- Listening to client feedback with openness and humility
If you ever feel that we could better support you, we happily welcome your input.
Our Shared Goal
At the heart of this policy is a simple belief:
Every dog–guardian partnership deserves the chance to thrive.
By fostering an inclusive, accessible, and compassionate environment, we aim to empower you and your dog to build a strong,
trusting, and joyful relationship, with us and each other.
